Dr Edward de Bono and the Melbourne-based Andrews Foundation established the not-for-profit de Bono Institute in 1997, to contribute to Australia's growth as a leader
in innovation and creativity.

The journey to establish a ‘sister’ organisation in Western Australia started in 2005 when a small group of people from WA, trained in Dr de Bono’s thinking tools and applying them within education, local government and business, met with
Dr de Bono at the de Bono Institute in Melbourne.

The POWA Institute was created in 2006 as a wholly-West Australian not-for-profit enterprise to introduce the full range
of Dr Edward de Bono’s methodologies into WA and raise awareness of the need for new thinking.

Thank you Dr Edward de Bono, Susan Mackie, Kendra Collins, Dr Saliba Sassine, Ali Sumner, Rhonda Hardy and
Ron Bamford for starting the journey on behalf of all West Australians.
